FF DATAROMA SUBSTACK PLANS MOVING FORWARD
Talking through some upcoming changes to my Substack.
Hi all! Writing an unusual “article” for you guys today, as I wanted to discuss some upcoming changes coming to my Substack.
Before diving into that, I want to first express my gratitude for all the support you guys have given me both on “X” and here. On October 3rd, I started posting consistently on “X” with just 65 followers and writing here with exactly Zero subscribers.
Less than two months later, on today November 25th, my “X” account has grown to over 5,300 followers along with over 1,200 of you subscribed here and reading my articles. The support has been truly unreal.
I want to give a couple of other quick shoutouts before discussing the upcoming changes. First, to the Fantasy Points team (@FantasyPts, @FantasyPtsData on “X”). Without their amazing data suite and continued support/engagement with my content, I would be nowhere near where I’m at now. Secondly, I want to shoutout Sleeper (@SleeperHQ, @SleeperNFL on “X”) for taking notice of my account and allowing me to become an affiliate to their brand. Super grateful for them!
With that being said, I am writing today primarily to discuss some upcoming changes that will take place for my content starting Thursday, December 5th, heading into Week 14 of the NFL season.
For starters, want to mention that absolutely nothing is changing on “X”, as I will still be posting the exact same content there. I will continue to provide all of you with tons of matchup data and information to the best of my ability.
There will, however, be some changes to the articles I write here on Substack. The content is staying the same here as well, but I am going to be paywalling most of these articles moving forward.
This change will take place, as mentioned above, on Thursday 12/5. You will be able to sign up for a paid subscription starting today 11/25 (click HERE to do so), but it will not be required to read any of my work until the Week 14 TNF preview article. This means that all content from today through the end of Week 13, including a special Thanksgiving slate preview article, will be FREE.
This change is something I have been debating internally for multiple weeks now, as I really do love being able to provide all of you with free content that (hopefully) helps you all win. However, I am putting a great deal of time and effort into my research and writing, and ultimately felt I was doing myself a major disservice by not charging a small fee for my efforts.
To see the changes regarding the 6 articles I currently write per week, read below for which articles will continue to be Free for all and which will be Paid Subscribers only:
Free
Ten Takeaway Tuesday - Takeaways from the prior week’s action
SNF Preview article
Paid Subscribers Only
TNF Preview article
Weekly Smashes - Players that could crush expectations
Weekly Fades - Players to potentially fade
MNF Preview article
I’m going to test out this format of Paid vs. Free content for now, and will make any changes if necessary. I want to provide a balance for Free subs to feel like they are still gaining value, while making sure Paid subs feel like their subscription is a genuinely worthwhile investment.
Before talking subscription pricing, I also want to quickly go over my content plans following the conclusion of the regular season.
When the playoffs come around, I will be doing in-depth write ups on every single playoff game from the Wild Card round all the way through the Super Bowl. These articles will all be Paid subscribers only.
For the offseason, I do not have a set in stone plan yet, but I will certainly be providing as much content as I can in the “dry” months of the NFL (March-May). This will probably be a lot of season review + rookie/dynasty/NFL Draft stuff. From June-August leading up to the season, I will be providing a plethora of content on player and team projections, ADP values, draft strategies, training camp news and much more. This content will be focused on Best Ball, Redraft, and Dynasty formats.
As for the aforementioned paid subscription pricing, I will be charging $7.99 per month, or $59.99 per year (equals $5 per month) if one opts for the yearly option.
To clarify the yearly option specifically, you would theoretically pay a one-time yearly subscription fee that renews (or ends) exactly one year from the day you sign up, so you would have access to my paid content for exactly one full year. It does NOT reset at the end of the calendar year OR the end of the NFL season, so you will get your money’s worth no matter when you subscribe.
One more note regarding this. If you are not entirely sure if you want to become a paid subscriber, you can opt for a 7-day free trial. This will allow you to keep consuming all of my content for an extra week before coming to a decision!
I am super excited for the future of this community, and to be able to provide you guys with tons of content and information to help you win in all fantasy formats. I vow to put as much effort and time into my research and writing as possible, and hope you all can reap the benefits of that.
If you are interested in becoming a paid subscriber and retaining access to all of my content here moving forward (starting 12/5 for Week 14), click HERE to subscribe. Thank you all so much for the continued support!
If we do monthly can we cancel after NFL season (around January) and rejoin later on in the year 2025(around August/September)?
